The freight in your trailer, while it is your responsibility.
Motor truck cargo covers the load itself — the goods you have been trusted to haul — against fire, collision, theft, and the other ways freight is lost or ruined in transit.
Limits matter more here than almost anywhere else. Brokers commonly require at least $100,000, but a single trailer of electronics or pharmaceuticals can be worth many times that, and you are exposed for the difference.
Who usually needs it
Any carrier hauling goods for hire. Most brokers and shippers will not tender a load without seeing a cargo certificate first.
