Truck Physical Damage
Your own tractor and trailer, whatever caused the damage.
Physical damage is the coverage for your own equipment rather than someone else's. Comprehensive handles fire, theft, vandalism, weather and animal strikes; collision handles the rest.
If there is a lienholder on the tractor, they will require it. If you own the truck outright it is optional on paper — but replacing a tractor out of pocket ends most small operations.
Who usually needs it
Owner-operators and fleets with equipment they could not comfortably replace out of cash flow, and anyone with a lienholder on a unit.
