Trailer Interchange
Damage to a trailer that belongs to someone else.
When you pull a trailer you do not own — under an interchange agreement with another carrier, or one supplied by a shipper — you are usually responsible for returning it in the condition you got it.
Trailer interchange covers your liability for that trailer. It is a separate thing from the freight inside it, which is what cargo coverage is for.
Who usually needs it
Carriers who pull trailers belonging to other carriers or to shippers under a written interchange agreement.
